About Course

CRISPR/Cas9 is the most recent and advanced genome editing technology with a wide range of applications in molecular biology, diagnostics, therapeutics, and many more. Compared to earlier used genome editing technologies that require sophisticated lab setups and extensive procedures, the CRISPR/Cas9 is the simplest and can be implemented in a minimal lab setup. The course will introduce CRISPR/Cas9 technology basics and its different usages, ranging from single base modification to genome-wide CRISPR-based screening. The course has been designed for the practical understanding of the technology rather than theoretical lectures. Therefore, the course will majorly comprise practical sessions focusing on designing CRISPR/Cas based experiments for knock-in and knock-out experiments, screening strategies for positive clones, entire workflow for CRISPR/Cas based experiments, and confirmation of successful gene editing.
